What to expect during first analysis

Files appear in the browser as Asset Grove discovers them. Captions, keywords, transcripts, and meaning-based search become available as each item finishes analysis.

Typical first-pass estimates are:

Library size	Typical time
1,000 files	1-2 hours
5,000 files	An afternoon or overnight
20,000 files	1-2 days of idle time
50,000 files	A few days, mostly overnight

Actual time depends on media type, file size, drive speed, Mac model, scheduling mode, and whether processing pauses on battery.

You can work while analysis continues

Browse every discovered file and search completed items while the rest of the queue runs. The pipeline card shows queued, analyzing, done, needs-review, and unavailable counts.

The default Overnight or Idle schedule keeps heavy work out of the way. Change it in Settings > Processing, or choose Manual if you want analysis to run only when you select Analyze.
