Choose your first library locations

Asset Grove watches selected media in place. It does not import or relocate originals.

1. On the Your library setup step, expand folders or drives in the folder tree.
2. Check every location you want Asset Grove to catalog.
3. Select Catalog Selected.
4. Confirm the active-location summary.
5. Select Start App Tutorial, then Open Asset Grove.

Choose the narrowest folders that contain the archive you actually want to search. Avoid selecting an entire system drive when a media folder will do.

macOS permission prompts

Asset Grove needs read access to each selected location. If macOS displays an Allow prompt, approve the requested folder. A saved location and the operating-system permission are separate; occasionally both must be renewed.

You can add, remove, or reauthorize locations later from the gear button in the Library card or from Settings > General.
